Ski The Future

The organizers of the World Cup in Jasna have decided to organize the race in a completely different way compared to the other events which have taken place in Slovakia so far. Their goal is to show a modern Slovakia to the world; a Slovakia which is able to compete in technological advances with the most developed countries. They have prepared a number of novelties for spectators.

The biggest technical innovation has been upgrading the zone for journalists. Printed “press kits” have been replaced by tablets which were given to every jouralist who came to Jasna. The goal is to have all the latest information with you at all times. “We wanted to present Slovakia as a modern country. I think that Slovakia has already presented itself through traditions and folklore. We wanted to shout to the world that we are a young and modern country. Therefore, we have also prepared some attractions that guests and journalists, I believe, might find impressive and which will show them we are modern and trendy,” said media event manager Maroš Sýkora. “If journalists do not wish to keep the tablet after the end of the event, they can return it back and it will be put to use again”.

In addition to the World Cup, visitors can look forward to Funradio Dohoda which will take place on the snow for the first time. The third event will be the concept of TV JOJ in the city with the title ‘JOJ-ka in Jasna.’ It is also the first time such an event has been presented in Jasna. Spectators can thus enjoy three different events in the same place. Another novelty will be Friday’s drawing of the start numbers for Saturday’s race which will be unusually held in our most visited cave - Demänovská jaskyňa slobody, where the opening ceremony has been prepared for invited guests and racers. The organizers have decided to show women's sport in a different light. During the draw of competitors on Saturday, a photo presentation will be played on the screen behind the skiiers which aims to show the racers as actual ladies with everything that goes with it. We want to vest them in the role of models and offer them a chance to replace their ski gear with a perfect make-over and a gorgeous dress for at least a moment.
