Debutantka Petra Hromcová si SP v Jasnej užila, no bola nervóznejšia ako počas MS

The main star of the World Cup race in women alpine skiing in Jasná is Petra Vlhová, but another Slovak women can be found among the world top skiers. Twenty-two years old Petra Hromcová make her debut in WC below Chopok on Saturday and she will not be missing at the start of Sunday’s giant slalom.

“I have to admit that I was a bit nervous at the beginning. After all, I am at home and it is my first world cup. But I was looking forward to it and it was nice. Even though there were tough grooves and it was not easy. Until I dropped out, I enjoyed it,“ revelaed Petra Hromcová.

She did not qualify for the second run, as she made a mistake in the second half of the track of first run and she did not finish. “I had hooking, it was no problem of the track. It is possible. It is possible that I came across the groove a little differently and that led me to a mistake,” she described the fateful moment.

How was it for her to debut in the world cup at home environment? “It is a huge experience. To see everything around is extremely nice. I was probably more nervous now than at recent world championships in Italy, as I understood people around,” said Petra Hromcová. She also admitted that Jasná is her favourite ski location. “I like it. I train here since I was little and I feel good here,“ she added.

She also added information about what the future holds for her. “Now I have to work at gaining necessary FIS points and had a better starting number in the future,“ she said. She revealed her next programme after the racing weekend in Jasná as well. “FIS race in Slovenia, Italy, and Austria is ahead for me, so I can gain some points and move up in the ranking,“ added Petra Hromcová.
