Jasná will not substitute Semmering

For several weeks, the organisers of the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Jasná have been communicating with the International Ski Federation (FIS) another possible giant slalom in the Low Tatras as a replacement for the cancelled race in Semmering, Austria at the end of December 2020.

The competition on Chopok during the first weekend in March will go as planned. "Unfortunately, in the current very complicated situation, we have not been able to secure enough funds to be able to add another competition day," said PR event manager Michaela Grendelová.

The current leader of the overall ranking of the World Cup, Slovak Petra Vlhová, will not get a chance to improve her points gain. "We communicated with Vlhová family that they were ready for the possibility that there would also be a competition in Jasná on Friday. Despite everything, I believe that Petra will be successful in Jasná in the original two days, i.e. on Saturday 6 March and Sunday 7 March," added Michaela Grendelová.

Although fans will not get to the race venue, they will have an exclusive chance to be part of the event at least at a distance, they will certainly enjoy the World Cup thanks to the Studio Jasná, which will bring interviews, behind-the-scenes views, online interviews with competitors and interesting guests, crazy videos with challenges and a lot of contests from 1st to 7th March at the official event´s website.
