Not only Petra Vlhová. Slovenians and Poles also trained in Jasná

There are only a few days left until the women's Alpine Ski World Cup in Jasná. The organisers are finishing the preparations, the training and competition slope are already ready for the next weekend. During the current week, several competitors even trained under Chopok, and Slovak sovereign Petra Vlhová was also among them.

"Currently, we have already closed preliminary applications, 107 competitors and almost 180 team members have registered. Final entries are also slowly coming in; we have a deadline of seven days before the event. We expect full participation of the best competitors," said Martin Kupčo, the commander of the courses for the World Cup.

Since the biggest stars of women's alpine skiing will visit Jasná, the question is whether it was necessary to address the extraordinary requirements of individual teams. "We don't have to deal with any special requirements. They are not rock stars, but sportswomen. The basis is safety during the covid situation. Everything is solved in compliance with the rules and we did not have to solve anything special," revealed Martin Kupčo. However, it was necessary to address the request of the Swiss, who, due to the unfavorable pandemic situation, requested the accommodation of all team members in separate rooms.

And which countries are coming for the World Cup in Jasná with the most numerous teams? "Relatively large teams come from traditional countries - Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, the United States of America and, of course, countries from Scandinavia will have a fairly large team, too," added Kupčo.

At the beginning of the current week, several competitors from abroad also trained in Jasná. They only had access to the training course, not the competition one. "We had registered teams from Slovenia, Poland and of course Slovakia," remarked Martin Kupčo. Slovenian Ana Bucik and Petra Vlhová flew to Liptov from the venue of the recently concluded World Championships, and Maryna Gasienica-Daniel from Poland also found time to prepare in the Low Tatras.
