The training and competition slope are in the hands of dozens of experts

The most important part of the World Cup in alpine skiing in Jasná are the competition slopes on the northern part of Chopok, where the best racers in the world compete for important points in the fight for the crystal globes, small and big. The organisers worked on ensuring that everything was in order in this direction not only during the last weeks or months, as they also "put off" the snow from last winter for sure.

During the last days, they were finishing their slopes in Jasná. "We just adjusted the slight terrain inequalities. And the last phase came which is the milling of the competition slope," said Vladimír Mlynček, who is responsible for the quality of the prepared slopes in Jasná.

The training slope was the first to be prepared for the preparation, as it will be in permanence sooner. "We originally wanted to prepare the training course a little later, but due to the weather and the long-term forecast, we decided to do it during the last weekend to create the best possible conditions for the competitors who signed up for earlier training," he revealed.

Now, in Jasná, they only focus on the competition track from Luková to the finish area. "First, the last modifications were made with snowmobiles; the last modifications were made around wooden barriers. We had to treat the security elements to create the conditions for the construction of protective nets," continued Vladimír Mlynček.

And how many people are really involved in making the slopes as good as possible? "During the weekend, about 25 people worked here, we did the preparation with about fifty people. From now on, we will have about 50 people a day on the hill," said Mlynček. His team often has to take care of the slope even in adverse weather conditions. "We are ready to work in any conditions," he added.
