World Cup in Jasna - Safety Comes First

Organizers met with representatives of rescue and security forces

Three years ago, during the World Cup in Jasna, the participation of spectators was excluded due to strict COVID measures. Petra Vlhova's triumph in the giant slalom could only be applauded by the members of the organizing committee and the race organizers on the track. Fans remained in front of their television screens.

However, the upcoming edition of the World Cup, which will be held under Chopok in the penultimate week of January 2024 (20th - 21st), promises a completely different experience.

The World Cup races in Jasna will take place with the resort operating at full capacity. This means that for two days, not only skiers but also thousands of event visitors will be moving under Chopok, and the organizers will have their hands full to ensure its smooth running.

"For this reason, a meeting was held with rescue and security forces, as well as local government bodies, who will cooperate at the World Cup in Jasna. The aim of the meeting was to acquaint the individual entities so that they know about each other and to develop plans on how to proceed. We considered all comments, ideas, and procedures to manage everything from the organizational side. This includes transporting fans to the race venue and providing everything necessary for their comfort," said Dominik Prno, project manager of World Cup Jasna 2024.

Members of the Fire and Rescue Corps in Liptovský Mikuláš were also invited. "It's a significant event, with risks in terms of the number of people and the occurrence of extraordinary events. Therefore, we will be fully prepared for the event so that we can respond quickly, reliably, and efficiently in the event of any incidents," stated Eva Krajčiová, director of the Liptovský Mikuláš Fire and Rescue Corps.

"Since a large number of spectators is expected, we will definitely develop a security project to ensure that everyone who participates in the World Cup feels safe and secure. We will be ready,"Krajčiová added.
